Scott Dolan, EMS-LA
Status: ISO/RC 14001/ OHSAS 18001 Auditor and Instructor
Relevant Experience: Mr. Dolan has been responsible for the development and implementation of environmental management systems (EMS) and health & safety management systems at dozens of manufacturing facilities throughout the US and Canada. Through his in- plant services he has assisted major manufacturing operations in becoming certified to the ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 specifications.
Mr. Dolan's experience has included spending 1½ years coordinating the implementation activities for Daimler-Chryslers' largest manufacturing operation. During this time he worked on-site at this 7000-person facility in Kokomo Indiana, to implement an EMS in conformance with ISO 14001. This EMS program was designed and implemented as an integrated program with the facilities health & safety and quality management system.
Mr. Dolan assisted several other manufacturers in implementing both ISO 14000 and OSHA 18001. This includes:
• GAMBRO, an internationally known healthcare manufacturer, who successfully passed a third-party audit for conformance to ISO 14001 in April 2000.
• CoorsTek, who developed a worldwide Environmental, Health and Safety Management System for its corporate headquarters and 14 manufacturing facilities located around the globe.
• ASARCO, a metals manufacturer and a Tier One Supplier to the automotive industry. The project consisted of developing an EMS and integrating it with the company's' quality and health and safety management systems
Mr. Dolan is the lead instructor for several training courses providers. He has developed and received accreditation from the RAB for an EMS Lead Auditor training course and an RC14001 Internal Auditor training course. He has also developed training course material and conducted training for OH&S management systems and Responsible Care management systems (RC14001 and RCMS). This includes training material for Internal Auditing, for Implementation & Documentation, and for Management Overview in each of the above noted training criteria.
Mr. Dolan has a Masters of Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver, and is a RAB Certified EMS Auditor.
