Raymond J. Patchak, CHMM, EMS-LA, QMS-A
Status: ISO/RC 14001 & OHSAS 18000 Auditor and Instructor
Relevant Experience: Mr. Patchak is a Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB) Certified environmental management systems Lead Auditor (EMS-LA), having participated on ISO 14001 EMS assessments at the Honeywell Specialty Materials, United Technologies Corporation, Ford Motor Company, Daimler-Chrysler, Goodrich Aerospace, Honda of America, Borg Warner Automotive and many other manufacturing facilities throughout North America.
Mr. Patchak has assisted over 100 different manufacturing operations throughout the world in their efforts to implement and maintain an effective management system and to become certified with internationally accepted standards. This assistance has included various activities and responsibilities, such as: implementation consultation; staff level training and both second and third party auditing. On an international basis, Mr. Patchak has worked on ISO auditing and implementation consulting projects in India, Ireland, Russia, Ukraine and Canada.
With more than 15 years of environmental, health & safety compliance experience, Mr. Patchak has developed a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements. He has shouldered the responsibilities for EH&S compliance programs in industrial facilities, in laboratory operations and in service sector organizations. Plant level responsibilities have included compliance with OSHA, MSHA, RCRA, DOT, CAA, SWDA, and many others.
Mr. Patchak successfully managed corporate level EH&S compliance programs for a mid size US Corporation. With responsibilities at 7 manufacturing operations throughout the US, he has a working knowledge of both compliance and enforcement programs at state and regional levels for OSHA and the EPA.
Mr. Patchak has successfully trained over 1500 students on how to be an effective Management Systems Lead Auditor in accordance with both EMS & QMS criteria. He was responsible for the development of two ISO 14001 Lead Auditor course that each received accreditation by ANSI-RAB and an RCMS/RC14001 Internal Auditor training course. He is currently coordinating a team of EH&S professionals working on the development of an OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor training course.
Mr. Patchak is an active member of the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM). He is a founding member of the ACHMM's ISO 14000 Committee, as well as, the past-President of the NW Indiana Chapter.
