Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2000 with emphasis on ISO/TS 16949:2002 This course is not affiliated with the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) auditor accreditation program, but is accredited in the ANSI-RAB National Accreditation Program (NAP), and meets the training portion of the requirements for certification of individual QMS Provisional Auditors, QMS Auditors, and QMS Lead Auditors under the RAB schema. This is a 40-hour QMS Lead Auditor Training Course lead by QAI’s expert staff of Certified QMS Auditors.
This course includes a complete and thorough review of the QMS standard for the automotive industry. Lecture topics will include implementation and documentation strategies and methods. Workshop activities are designed to help strengthen your ability to assess a QMS system and its compliance to the standard. Group case studies with mock auditing will reinforce the learning process and help to familiarize you with the audit process. The course is designed around an actual case study of a fictitious facility and its’ Quality Management Systems. Students end the course conducting an assessment of the case study facility and making a recommendation on registration. Final examination is Friday morning. Once you complete this course and pass the exam, you will have met the requirements needed to apply for certification status with RAB as a QMS Auditor with sector specific training.

Explain the purpose of the QMS. Explain the history of QMS. The principles and practices of QMS auditing as related to the ISO 10011 (soon to be 19011) standard
QMS and conformity assessment techniques for internal/external - third party application. Qualifications of a QMS auditor and lead auditor as described by RAB and other major auditor certification programs
Description and distinctions between the roles of auditors, registrars and accreditation bodies.
A comparison of the different types of audits and their respective objectives.
Documentation requirements.

Detailed overview of the ISO Mechanics and Interpretations Audit planning, Audit Scope, and Audit depth
Evaluating an organizations procedures and methods to determine conformance to ISO standards.
